LG Twins manager Yeom Kyung-yup was ejected for protesting a video review.
LG Twins manager Yoon Kyung-yeop was ejected from the game against the Kiwoom Heroes of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on Wednesday for protesting the video review of Park Dong-won’s three-foot fielding interference.
The incident occurred in the bottom of the fifth inning when LG was losing 1-4. With the bases loaded, Park laid down a sacrifice bunt and was ruled safe at first base. First baseman Lee Won-seok failed to catch the throw from third baseman Song Sung-moon and the ball bounced out, allowing first baseman Moon Bo-kyung to advance to third base.
Kiwoom requested a video review of the situation, which resulted in a three-foot fielding interference call and Park was ruled out. Moon Bo-kyung, who had advanced to third base, also returned to first base. The video replay showed that Lee Won-seok collided with Park Dong-won at first base and did not receive a call.
Manager Yoon Kyung-yup rushed out of the dugout in protest after the video review. After arguing with the umpires for a while, Yeom returned to the dugout, gesturing that he would not accept the decision. However, because he protested the video review, he was automatically sent off.
Meanwhile, Lee Won-seok, who collided with Park Dong-won, suffered a sore wrist and was replaced by Kim Joo-hyung to finish the game. Kim Joo-hyung moved to shortstop, Kim Hye-sung to second base, and Kim Tae-jin to first base to speed up the game 먹튀검증.
