Sergio Garcia (Spain), who plays for LIV Golf, will compete in next month’s U.S. Open.

Garcia earned his spot in the U.S. Open by tying for fourth place at the final U.S. Open Regional Qualifier, a 36-hole stroke play event held in Dallas, Texas, on April 24. He joins Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Phil Mickelson (USA), and Cameron Smith (AUS) as players who have left the PGA Tour to play for LIV Golf. 먹튀검증

Garcia has a lifetime exemption to the Masters because of his victory, but has lost his exemption to the other majors because of his steady decline in the world rankings since joining LIV Golf.

His qualification will mark the 24th consecutive year that he has played in the U.S. Open after missing out on the PGA Championship, which concluded today.

Garcia will compete in the seventh edition of the LIV Golf event, which will be held at the par-72 Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, USA, over three days starting on July 27. Eight U.S. Open spots were up for grabs in Garcia’s qualifier, with 2010 U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowall (Northern Ireland) missing out on a spot in the U.S. Open after falling one stroke short in a playoff.

PGA Tour rookie Carson Young (USA) shot a course-record 62 to top qualifying.

The U.S. Open, the third major of the season, begins on June 16 at Los Angeles Country Club in Los Angeles, California.
