Professional soccer team Daegu FC recently lost in the FA Cup round of 16.
Their rise in the regular league has been uneventful.
They recently picked up two straight away wins against promoted teams,
I’m interested to see if the momentum from the away streak can carry over to the home game on Saturday, May 26.

Daegu FC had to play two consecutive games away from home against Gwangju and Daejeon, two teams that were promoted in the 2023 season.
The shock of the loss to Ulsan on Children’s Day was somewhat offset by a draw against Pohang, but the pressure of facing Gwangju, who had lost their first match of the season, was daunting.
◀Coach Choi Won-kwon’s pre-match interview on 13R (May 13)▶
“I don’t think it’s easy for any team, because they’re playing good football and they have a lot of players with good attacking power… But we’re going to adapt to that and have the best organization we can.”
Despite being without several key players, Daegu won the match with a goal from 19-year-old rookie Park Se-jin and another from Go Jae-hyun. The sixth-ranked team was no slouch in their Round 14 match against fifth-ranked Daejeon Hana Citizens.
Go Jae-hyun, the team’s top scorer, scored a goal for the second consecutive game to give the fans who traveled to the game a victory.
◀Go Jae-hyun post-match interview (May 20)
“All we can do for those fans is to go one step further because they reward us with results inside the stadium, and there are always a lot of fans who come and make it like our home stadium, so I’m really grateful and I love the Daegu fans.”
With Go’s scoring touch revitalized, ranking seventh in the league with five goals, and Sejingya back from injury and playing since the last match against Daejeon, Daegu FC’s next target is a home match against Incheon on Saturday.
With a three-game winning streak on the horizon, something that has never happened in the regular season prior to the 2022 split round, the pressure is on.
With a packed schedule ahead of them in early June, all eyes will be on Daegu to see if they can end May with a home win and a three-game winning streak 스포츠토토.
