Defending PBA Team League first-round champion NHK Card defeated Welcome Savings Bank to extend its winning streak to seven games.

On the second day of the second round of the Welcome Savings Bank PBA Team League 2023-2024 at the Goyang Kintex PBA Stadium in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, the NHK Card swept the rebounding Welcome Savings Bank 4-1 to extend their winning streak from the first round to seven games.

With the win, the Cards tied their own PBA team league record of seven straight wins set last season.

The NHL Card’s momentum has been unstoppable lately. The momentum from the first round win carried over into the second round. On the first day of the second round, they bounced back from a shaky start to win in two sets against Haiwon Resort, and then continued their winning streak against Welcome Savings Bank, led by a two-game sweep by Cho Jae-ho.

The NHL Cards got off to a flying start in the first set, as Jo Jae-ho and Seong-wook, who were crowned the ‘strongest men’s doubles’ despite playing together for the first time this season, won in just four innings. Cho scored eight points in the third inning, including a seven-point run, and Oh Sung-wook took the remaining three points to take an 11-5 lead.

Kim Min-ah and Kim Bomi followed with a 9-7 (7 games) win over Higashiuchi Natsumi and Choi Hye-mi, before another three-set singles victory by Jo Jae-ho, who defeated Birole Wimaz (Turkiye) 15-13 (9 games) to extend the lead to 3-0.

Welcome Savings Bank pulled to within one set in the fourth set with Lee Sang-dae and Kim Ye-eun winning 9-7 (10 games), but in the fifth set, Antonio Montes (Spain) clinched the match with an 11-5 victory over Seo Hyun-min in five games. 토토사이트

Montes, in particular, emerged as a “special finisher” for the NHL Cards, as the win gave him six wins on the season without a loss in singles, five of which were team victories. The NHL Card will look to extend their winning streak to eight games, the longest in PBA team league history, when they host SK Rent-a-Car at 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 18.

Blue One Resort defeated Crown HaeTae 4-3 in straight sets thanks to a two-game winning performance by Throng Pheavy (Cambodia), while SK Rent-a-Car, who had a day off on the first day of the second round, swept the Huons 4-1 in straight sets to earn three points. With the losses, Crown HaeTae and Huon Ones suffered their second straight defeat. Hiwon Resort won a close full-set match against Eswai with a set score of 4-3.

On the third day of the second round on the 18th, the match between Hana Card and Crown HaeTae will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by SK Rent-a-Car and NH Card at 3:30 p.m., Blue One Resort and Haiwon Resort at 6:30 p.m., and Welcome Savings Bank and Eswai at 9:30 p.m. There will be no further matches. The Huons will have a day off.

Meanwhile, the second round of the PBA Team League, which is being held at the Goyang Kintex PBA Stadium in Goyang City, Gyeonggi-do, will feature an event where players will hand out gifts to fans just before tip-off to welcome visitors to the venue. The event will be held for all games in the second round.
