Gangwon FC head coach Choi Yong-soo (49) expressed his sincere disappointment after failing to win yet again, especially after the team took control of the game early in the second half and even equalized, but then failed to keep the momentum going due to mistakes such as minor passes.
Gangwon conceded an early goal in their Hana One Q K League 2023 Round 17 home match against Daejeon Hana Citizen at Songam Sports Town in Chuncheon at 7:30 p.m. on July 7, and although they came back to equalize through Park Sang-hyuk (20), they conceded a late goal and lost 1-2.
With the loss, Gangwon failed to break out of their ‘slump’ as their winless streak stretched to seven matches. They remained in 11th place (2W6D9L-12P). Gangwon will face Jeonbuk Hyundai, who are on a ‘two-game winning streak’, at home in the next round. 메이저놀이터
In the post-match press conference, Choi said, “We prepared well to bring a good result to our home fans in a home game, but we conceded to two counterattacks. “We brought the atmosphere in the second half, scored the equalizer and maintained a good flow, but we were blocked by minor mistakes such as missed passes,” he said.
“We tried to be aggressive in the first half and create situations, but it didn’t work because the players were passive. In the second half, we slowly picked up the pace after the substitutions and created a lot of chances, but our finishing was poor.”
Gangwon will now face Jeonbuk. Despite a 1-0 victory in the previous meeting, Jeonbuk is currently in good form as they regain their form. “We need to recover quickly physically,” says Choi. They have a very good flow and their individual players are good. We need to think more about how to prepare for them.”
